Tata Steel - Tech Savvy Communicators recognised at the Annual Business Communications Awards
Tata Steel's foray into the latest communications technologies and applying them in impressive and effective ways has been recognised by the Association of Annual Business Communicators of India this year.
In the award ceremony held on February 27, 2004 at Hotel Taj Land's End, Mumbai, Tata Steel's creative outputs, in the form of audio-visuals, events, intranet site, website, brochures and e- communication platforms emerged with flying colours amongst 350 entries from companies across the country. Out of the six prizes won by Tata Steel, four were first prizes, and two were second prizes.

The awards were presented to Tata Steel by, Mrs. Anuradha Mahindra, Editor, Verve Magazine, Mr. Vikram Sarada, CEO, Sarada Group and Editor Deshdoot Times, Maharashtra and Mr. Anand Sankeshwar, CEO, Vijay Karnataka - a leading regional newspaper and MD, Vijayanand Printers.
This year Tata Steel's flagship house journals Tisco News and Tisco Samachar have both completed 50 years of continuous publication. Last year too, Tata Steel created history at the Annual Business Communicators of India (ABCI) by winning ten awards. No corporate house, since the inception of the award had ever won as many awards as Tata Steel won in the annual contest. With this, Tata Steel's leadership in the field of business communications in both print, electronic and audio-visual media, by dominating repeatedly in the competitions, has been fully established. Tata Steel's website - tatasteel.com is also the proud recipient of the of the IISI People's Choice Award by International Iron & Steel Institute (IISI), Belgium.
The ABCI is the professional body for business communications and its main objectives are to gain recognition for the profession and enhance the professional skills of those working in this area.
