Tata Steel completed the month of May with a significant increase in its hot metal, crude steel and saleable steel production over the corresponding month, last year. Production of hot metal, crude steel and saleable steel in May this year went up by 19 per cent,17 per cent and 23 per cent, respectively, over May,2008. The figures are appended below:

- New Bar Mill recorded its best May production of 51,882 t (previous best 50,058 t in May’07).
