Tata Steel sales up 26 per cent in January, hot metal output increases 32 per cent
Tata Steel’s hot metal, crude steel and saleable steel production in January 2009 was significantly higher than production in the corresponding month of 2008. Production of hot metal, crude steel and saleable steel in January 2009 increased by 32 per cent, 25 per cent and 35 per cent, respectively, over production in January 2008. In January 2009, Tata Steel won the coveted ET Company of the Year Award. During the month, initial civil construction work also commenced at the company’s 6 mtpa integrated Greenfield steel project at Kalinganagar, Orissa. |
