Tata Steel sales up 47 Per Cent in Feb '09, Hot Metal production rises 19 Per Cent
Tata Steel recorded a 47 per cent rise in sales in February 2009, compared with sales in the corresponding month of 2008. Production of hot metal, crude steel and saleable steel in February 2009 went up by 19 per cent, 12 per cent and 21 per cent, respectively, over February 2008. Performance highlights of February 2009

65 per cent increase in Long product sales over Feb’08.

37 per cent increase in Flat product sales over Feb’08.

Steel Melting Shops recorded best-ever February production of crude steel at 4,65,985 tonnes
(Previous best: Feb’08).

Saleable steel production at 4,97,662 tonnes was also the best-ever in any February month (previous best : Feb’08).

Total hot metal produced stood at 5,16,766 tonnes, the highest in any February month (previous best : Feb’07).

LD#1 (one of the Steel Melting Shops) recorded its best February production at 1,82,633 tonnes (previous best: Feb’08 ).
