Q2 FY’11 witnessed some best ever Production and Sales in various units of the Steel Company. Some commendable records are:-
- Highest ever Hot Metal production of 1899 kt in a quarter (previous best: 1888 kt in Q3 FY’10).
- Highest ever Crude Steel production of 1726 kt in a quarter (previous best: 1724 kt in Q3 FY’10).
- G blast furnace achieved highest ever quarterly production of 557 kt (previous best 545 kt in Q1 FY’11).
- LD#1 (one of the Steel Melting Shop) achieved highest ever quarterly production of 774 kt (previous best: 748 kt in Q4 FY’10).
- Highest ever Long Products sales of 774 kt in a quarter (previous best: 753 kt in Q4 FY’10).
Other Highlights
- Tata Steel was awarded the ‘Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar’ for the second consecutive year. The company bagged the award in the ‘Financial Support for Sports Excellence’ category.
- Tata Steel was conferred CSR Excellence Award 2010 by ASSOCHAM.
