~TFA cadets honoured at the 8th Convocation Ceremony ~

The convocation ceremony at Tata Football Academy was observed last evening, amidst a gamut of sportspersons, including both yesteryear’s stalwarts and a fresh batch, waiting to make their mark in the world of soccer. This year, the Academy achieved a feat of 100 percent placement of all its cadets.

Present on the occasion was Mr H M Nerurkar, Managing Director, Tata Steel and chief guest on the occasion; Mr Alberto Colaco, Secretary, All India Football Federation and guest of honour; and others. All 18 cadets have been absorbed by renounced soccer clubs in the country; few of them being Mohun Bagan, East Bengal, Salgaocar FC, JCT, Mumbai FC and others.

Congratulating the cadets, Mr Nerurkar said, “Graduating from the Tata Football Academy implies that each of you comply with the highest ethical standards and be disciplined. I wish all the cadets a very successful career as a footballer.” Mr Colaco urged all cadets to make wise decisions while enrolling themselves in teams that would give them a chance to prove their mettle on the field.

Also present on the occasion were Mr Partha Sengupta, Vice President (Corporate Services), Tata Steel and Chairman, TFA Board of Management. Prominent people present were Mr Chunni Goswami, Mr Arun Ghosh, ex-Directors of TFA; ex-coach Md Habib along with ex-cadets Mr Mahesh Gowli and Mr Carlton Chapman.
