Central Zoo Authority extends recognition of Tata Steel Zoological Park

Central Zoo Authority (CZA), Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Govt. of India has renewed recognition of Tata Steel Zoological Park, Jamshedpur u/s 38H of WildLife (Protection) Act, 1972 for a period till 21/03/2020.
Recognition of Tata Steel Zoological Park had expired on 31/12/2016 and a request to CZA for renewing recognition to the zoo was made by Tata Steel Zoological Society. Evaluation of the zoo was carried out by Dr.Brij Kishor Gupta, Evaluation & Monitoring Officer from CZA on 22/02/2017.
Zoos in India cannot operate without being recognised by Central Zoo Authority & therefore its mandatory to seek recognition.
